Beyond the Dawn

He is developing three feature film projects. Although they all depict the Chinese community, they are stylistically different. His more advanced project, Beyond the Dawn, tells the story of Shi Xianshu and Shen Dai, a divorced couple that haven’t seen each other in over ten years. The sudden death of their only son finally brings them together in Paris, in their son and his ex-girlfriend’s small flat. Through these estranged and yet familiar characters going through emotional trials, HU Wei questions pain, acceptance, memory and relationships.
