"Enjoy, once again, the pleasure of the silver screen"

Films connect people, provide meaning, convey singular emotions. Cinema is vital and that’s why we’ve missed it so much over the last few months. Paralysed by the health crisis, the professionals from the film industry have suffered and are now more vulnerable than before. 

This sector of the arts, which radiates on a regional, national and European scale and throughout the world, needs support to reopen the cultural institutions and festivals so we can get back to life. 

Fortunately, our active forces in the Southern Region remain fully committed, ready to dazzle us and make us dream once again. And La Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival is one of them. For 60 years it has been revealing the talent of wonderful filmmakers, like Jacques Audiard, Anne Fontaine and François Ozon. Even caught up in the difficult times that was the cancellation of the 2020 Cannes Film Festival, La Semaine de la Critique kept on shining a light on new talents and revealing filmmakers from around the world. 

We are proud and eager to attend this 60th edition from 7th to 15th July; an opportunity to celebrate films and to enjoy, once again, the pleasure of the silver screen.
