C’est arrivé près de chez vous
by Rémy Belvaux, André Bonzel & Benoît Poelvoorde
A film crew follows around an odd murderer whose misdemeanours they shoot live.
Facing the camera, the murderer makes endless freezy speeches about his motives, his method ; he turns out to be a lover of life, of poetry, occasionally prone to emotional reactions.
To get to terms with a child, he asks for the film-maker's help and gets it. The film-maker and his crew end up taking part in a collective rape.
In the murderer’s hiding place, where he keeps the loot from his misdeeds, he gets into fights with armed crooks : after the soundman and the cameraman have been killed, the murderer coldly shoots down the members of another film-crew. He is arrested and taken to court for his crimes but manages to escape.
As he discovers the corpses of his girl-friend and his parents he understands that he has been the victim of a pitiless revenge. His running-away is close to its end.
