Ritesh Batra

Ritesh Batra is an Indian director from Mumbai. He leaves to New York to study cinema and then starts directing short films. He is getting well known by travelling through festivals to present his several short films and is awarded in 2011 the FIPRESCI Prize at the Oberhausen International Festival and special mentions from the jury at the Chicago and Tribeca Film Festivals for his film Café Regular, Cairo. In 2013, he presented his first feature film The Lunchbox in Cannes at the 52nd Semaine de la Critique.
