Jacques Rozier
French New Wave helmer Jacques Rozier accepted to play "godfather" to the 43' lineup of Critics' Week. Succeeding Ken Loach and Bernardo Bertolucci, Rozier will be a sounding board for debuting helmers and the public on May 17 when Rozier's first film, Adieu Philippine will be screened. The film was shown at the maiden edition of Critics' Week in 1962. Pic was introduced at that screening by Jean-Luc Godard and Francois Truffaut. On that occasion, Godard said of the film, "Anybody who hasn't seen (actress) Yveline Cery dance the cha-cha looking straight into the camera is unqualified to continue discussing cinema on the Croisette."
