Bernard Emond trained to be a anthropologist and was born in 1951 in Montreal. He first worked on documentaries, then he becomes a specialist on loss and memory and turns to fiction with a long film, La femme qui boit, selected at International Critics' Week in 2001. Bernard Emond has also directed documentaries.
