As early as his debut feature Amores Perros, selected at La Semaine de la Critique in 2000, Iñárritu’s personal style in filmmaking stood out. He went on directing 21 Grams in 2003 and Babel in 2006, the latter rewarded the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Best Director Award in the Official Competition of the Cannes Film Festival and was twice nominated for the Academy Awards. In 2010 he directed Biutiful followed in 2014 by Birdman, winner of numerous awards among which the Academy Awards for the Best Achievement in Directing and the Best Motion Picture of the Year. In 2015, The Revenant brings him the second Academy Award in a row for the Best Motion Picture.
