Lucky Kuswandi’s feature film project tackles his usual themes of identity, LGBT and minority issues. Kevin is the coming of age story of a 9 year-old Indonesian gay boy, whose life is just an endless series of struggles. This is a very personal subject for Lucky Kuswandi in a country where the LGBT community’s assertion is heavily repressed. Lucky wants the audience to relate to and identify with Kevin’s confusion, pain and joy, to foster a better, non-judgemental understanding of the issues faced by this young boy, who strives to be freely himself.
