OUR STRUGGLES (NOS BATAILLES) was released in France (Haut et Court distribution) and Belgium (Cinéart distribution) on October 3, and is off to a good start with over 80,000 tickets sold during its opening week. Since it was presented at the special screening of the 57th edition of La Semaine de la Critique, Guillaume Senez’s second feature has walked the up and down the festival path; it was shown in La Rochelle, Karlovy Vary, Namur (screened for its opening) and Busan (currently competing). It will also be distributed in a dozen countries such as Brazil (Vitrine Filmes), Italy (Parthenos), Japan (Cetera), Canada (on November 9 | Axia Films) and Sweden (Lucky Dogs).
After Keeper - his first feature film - in OUR STRUGGLES, Guillaume Senez keeps looking for inspiration in a specific social reality. He provides Romain Duris with a strong role, that of an abandoned father who must balance his children’s education as well as his family and professional life. “Our Strugglesstill marks its Belgian helmer as a humanist filmmaker of rare subtlety and perceptiveness, on a comparable path to that of his compatriots the Dardenne brothers."
