The Louis Roederer Foundation was founded in 2011 to strengthen the philanthropic activity pursued by the Louis Roederer Champagne House. As a valued sponsor of the Bibliothèque nationale de France since 2003, Louis Roederer was awarded the title of “Major Patron of Culture and Arts” in 2010.
The Foundation supports outstanding cultural actions undertaken by recognised institutions in France and abroad. It demonstrates a longstanding and deep commitment to the Bibliothèque nationale, the Réunion des musées nationaux – Grand Palais and the Jeu de Paume, in Paris. The Foundation is also a partner of the French Academy – Villa Medici in Rome, and the Villa Albertine in the United States.
It is also committed to shine a light on burgeoning artists through the BnF Photography Research Grant, the Discovery Award at the Rencontres d’Arles photography festival, the Revelation Prize at the Deauville American Film Festival and the Rising Star Award at the Semaine de la Critique of the Cannes Film Festival.
“Seven years ago already, with the team of La Semaine de la Critique, we created the Rising Star Award, which we hold most dear. With this prize for young actors and actresses, we contribute to the acknowledgement of talented up-and-coming artists.”
