Feared critic lost in a banal existence, Serge Pommier still has not written the book everyone hoped from him. In order to live, he has to content himself with teaching literature in college. When Jeanne, one of his students, submits a remarkable manuscript to him, his life comes together... He should have written this, he could have done it. Her novel could be his passport to the recognition he's dreamed of for so long. Serge decides to kidnap Jeanne and steal her novel.
