Fabrice du Welz

After theater studies at the Liège conservatory, Fabrice du Welz studies at the production section of INSAS. Then he works for Canal+ in France and in Belgium, as a presentator of humoristic and cinematographic shows, as an actor in some of the sketches he writes too. At that moment, his career turns towards cinema. Fie directs several short movies in super 8, and in 1999, Quand on est amou­reux, c'est merveilleux... which was awarded in several French and Belgian festivals. In 2001, he begins the writing of Calvaire.
